GS Plus are now recruiting for Mobile Chef Managers
As a business we now have a number of exciting opportunities open to enthusiastic caterers looking to make a real difference in our primary and secondary education catering contract in Greenwich.
In return we offer (£11.50 per hour) based on a 35 hour week, 39 term-time weeks only.

Ideal candidate: The ideal candidate will have a passion for fresh food, an eye for detail and be able to work on their own initiative, strong craft skills are essential.

Ideally you will have previously worked in the education sector and have experience managing a team.

Candidates would hold a full clean driving license and have access to your own vehicle or are willing to travel to different locations within the South East region.
Candidates must also be qualified or have proven experience to City & Guilds or NVQ craft standards.
Mobile Chef Manager role profile:
" A proven track record as a Chef Manager with the experience of managing the day to day challenges of running a unit.
" Must have excellent cooking skills in both presentation and taste.
" Must be reliable, have attention to detail and be IT proficient.
" You must have the ability to manage and control a budget and to carry out stock taking.

CRITERIA

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
2 years' experience of cooking, preparing and serving meals in an educational setting and level 2 food Hygiene .

OR will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or 4
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS/ ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of Health and Safety within the kitchen.
2. Must hold intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
3. Understanding of Food Hygiene.
4. Ability to maintain records such as stock control,
invoices, timesheets and cash accounts.

5. Ability to supervise staff and prioritise workloads.
6. Ability to lift heavy kitchen equipment.
7. Willingness to travel to various sites within the Borough
8. Willingness to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau check
9. Ability to effectively manage and monitor sickness absence
within a small team

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
1. City and Guilds 706 -1 or 706 - 2 or equivalent
2. Full clean British driving licence and full use of own vehicle
3. Satisfactory attendance record over the past 12 months (normally not more than 9 days and / or 4 periods of absence in the previous 12 months). However, personal circumstances will be taken into account.
